I like this.

The N12 so very nearly hit the mark. It BADLY needed a digital connection and the faders to output controller data - and I would have kept mine around for longer.

So how about re-issue of the N12 line with -

New AD/DA - a must. Think what Audient have crammed into their little ID14..
Digital connections - SPDIF at the least. AES or Optical would be nice.
12 fader version and maybe a 16 fader version - the N16 (nice)
Motorised faders (at the very least output CC from the non-motorised faders), non motor faders wouldn't cut it today.
USB3 or Ethernet (not Firewire)

And that's it really! Dont even need to control plugins or EQ from the board.

A pretty solid DAW controller with audio interface that would appeal to tracking and mixing users. Fully integrated and cheaper that bloody SSL Winner

EDIT: Yamaha/Steinberg already have ALL the tech needed to do this. They just need to stick it all in one box.
