Anyway, the closest option I see is the qcon prox by icon. It also seems to be very cubase friendly. I'm tempted to buy one but like others here I feel like as soon as I do the berg will announce that they have one in the works. Will just have to keep waiting I guess. Hope they hear us and handle biz. Great thread!
I use the QconPro. It is very similar to the Mackie MCU. The Behringer X touch seems to generate both love and hate. But none of this has anything to do with how "friendly" they are to Cubase or any other DAW for that matter. These use MCU protocol. Since they use MCU protocol, and if I were buying again, I would focus on build quality, unit size, fader resolution, noise of mechanical faders, technical support and warranty. All have extenders.
Remember the Houston? That didn't work out so well for Steinberg. I guess neither did the CMC.
The X touch was released way past its scheduled release date by years.
The new QconProX, originally named the QconG2 (a prototype which was just a shell appeared at NAMM 2015) had a date of 3rd quarter 2015. It's now the end of 4 quarter 2016 and one person at the end of this thread actually received a unit that turned out to be defective.

Has anyone else received their QconProX? It's been listed in retailer catalogs for many months. Last summer it was just "weeks" away.
The overall history of DAW controllers for the hobbyist seems fairly gloomy. The best success I'm guessing is the Mackie MCU, but the protocol hasn't been updated in years.
