Chameleon Labs 7602 MKII by Francoolivo
I have now had my unit for 3 years. The eq is good, the pre is has its uses, and the di is excellent.
The best use I found with this unit was its use as a bass di. It has a rich, strong, and present frequency response. Passive bass pickups seem to have found some of the bite of active pups, and even better, I rarely have to eq more than a couple dbs.
I've used it as a guitar di as well, and it has a done the job, though nothing to write home about. As a pre, it has a very gritty 1k-2k response. This works for certain mics, especially dark ones, and is good for certain styles of music, like rock or rap, but I've never gotten a good sound out of it when doing softer-styled vocals; they were too "hard". This pre combined with harsher mics is also a no-go. It's been GREAT with dynamic mics, on the other hand.
I've heard the shootouts with the mods, and honestly, I don't think it's worth the expense.
