Seaweed Audio Fathom Synth by guildorf
I'm not a sound designer, but Fathom's elegant gui, and easy workflow invite experimenting with the many hundreds of presets. I've been able to 'get lucky' numerous times, so people
with more knowledge of how sounds are shaped will have a field day connecting and arranging modules, and dialing in parameters.
When you highlight a module, it's parameters appear beneath the main screen, where you'll soon see that some of the effects are worth the full price of the synth itself, which is itself very affordable. For testing, there is a free mono version to download, and quite a powerful version on the CM Magazine dvd/cloud.
This is not a synth for old slow systems, but AVX support was recently added, and improvements keep arriving when available.
The sound is stellar, and the developer is a fan of his own competition, and knows the trajectory to aim on.
