A new product from Antelope, the Zen Tour Synergy Core is an interface with tonnes of processing power, tonnes of connectivity, tonnes of features and comes with not one but two FPGAs for in-situ DSP, and to top it off a bundle of top class plugins.

Okay, so I started out with a Digi 008 years ago running through a Soundcraft desk, and it sounded great. The 008 died on me and I was skint so I got an Apogee Duet (mk 1), which I used for years which also sounded great. Then, due to being even more skint, and computer and connection issues I moved over to an Audient iD14, which, whilst not having the resolution of the two previous interfaces, had an amazing warmth and vibe. Then my computer died and my world fell apart for almost a year. Just recently I got my hands on some money, did a shed load of research, got a MacBook Pro, Sennheiser HD 800s and the Zen Tour Energy Core. I have to say I am STUNNED by the quality of the Antelope interface!!! The resolution is smooth, honest to a tee and and extremely refined. My Old Genelecs have been given a new lease of life, and in all honesty I don't think I realised how excellent they were until now.
I've literally only just got the unit, so I've yet to try the preamps, but if they are the same quality as the converters they are going to be AMAZING!!
The bundles plugins (38 of them I think!) are as good as you can get. Seriously, they weigh in against the likes of Waves and Slate et cetera.
The unit is stable and very convenient and easy to use, the company seems to have a passion for their products and I am WOWED by my purchase. NO BRAINER!.

I did an upgrade from the previous version ZT to the ZT SC and I must admit that I was blown away how much more amazing FPGA plugins I can use in a single session. The unit is very good build, Apple style. True, I am using A/B speakers and this was no problem in the first version, since there ware two main outputs ... the new has a single (better) one. But I own also a D-sub cable and have additional outputs available, so my B speakers (Avantone) are connected to line outputs ... It would be great to make a software adjustment so I could use the Antelope button to switch between the speakers (main one and Line Out) as in the old unit. I am using the AFX2DAW native bridge and also the Edge Solo mike with all the emulation of the well known large diaphragm microphones (iLok3 key needed).

Bottom line, the unit is amazing. Especially the deal with the upgrade from the old unit to the new SC model and Edge solo mike. The software is running stable - i am using TB3 connectivity with my Macbook pro 16 over USB-C (the TB3 cabel is not included, so you have to buy it separately).

Thx Antelope for making such a great product! jummp p

Recently bought my Zen Tour and I am quite impressed with the variety of possibilities it brought to my recording sessions.

I am getting amazing sound, specially on guitars. The stunning amplifier emulations allow me working on my ideas overnight without necessity to turn on my Mesa Boogie. Neighbors must be glad now !

Also recorded drums using the 4 preamps and the result was incredible!

I have been using this audio interface for two weeks, replacing my old Apogee Ensemble firewire. I bought it new in Argentina with an incredible promotion, Zen + Solo edge mic + free plugins. I am totally delighted with this hardware upgrade. First I want to tell you that Antelope's attention is incredible, every email sent has been answered in a clear and kind way, and they are extremely generous with regard to the time they take and the plugins.
I was thinking of moving from Apogee to UAD ... thank goodness I finally chose Antelope despite the bad reviews I found here on GS. First I want to tell you that the Edge solo mic is incredible, I have in my studio some of the microphones that this mic emulates in conjunction with the software it brings, and it is really shocking how close the emulations are, think that this microphone, this interface and some headphones fit in a little backpack, and you're basically wearing a whole looker of microphones, hardware emulation plugins... it's amazing!
The internal matrix of the Zen Tour is a dream, you can basically route one input (mic 1) to 24 different inputs in your DAW (in USB mode), with different effects per DSP each, a dream come true for a production studio. The touch screen gives you a creative speed, difficult to achieve with other hardware, (you can recall channels and plugins configurations with 5 diferent presets). The preamps are excellent, the plugins are incredible, and many (almost all) you get it for free buying a new interface (hello UAD :-)) And finally, the ADDA conversion of this interface is fabulous, superior to Apogee ensemble and duet, I even like it better than the Lynx aurora that I use often. It's a beautiful monitor control with a BIG beautiful steaped Knob and a HUGE processing potential, amazing plug-ins, mic emulations, clean supreme converters, fabulous audio output (130DB). My PMCs are happier than ever. If you are looking for a super combo, of HI quality and stability, a portable studio ready to make music, do not hesitate, Zen Tour Synergy Core is what you are looking for.

Hi Everybody,

Bought Antelope and have been using now for 2 Weeks. Using a Macbook pro and USB i find the driver to be stable considering this is an issue that has been pointed out to be a major issue. Starting up the setup takes longer than other devices however its part of the user experience . The device is well build and the touchscreen is actually pretty responsive.
Learning the routing matrix might be difficult at first but can be a super useful tool if you get it down. The plug-ins are great and the bundle you get for free is pretty good, but instead of loads of guitar amps i would rather want more pre-amps´and maybe delays or reverbs as im not a guitarist. The sound is amazing, the low end sit nicely and everything is clear which helps with mixing. The re-amps are actually fun to use and it helps you being creative. I use it to route to my sans-amp and just for fun send everything to it. A power button would be handy as im scared leaving it plugged in. No thunderbolt cable included and would be nice to have a case for the Zen. The constumer service responds fast, no issue there. If you dont have gear or vocals to record, this device might be overkill.

Pro: Sound, Routing capabilities, Re-amp (trick: instead of afx2daw you can rerecord with the plug-ins)

Cons: no power switch ( you either press power off on touchscreen or the computer tool) Fx bundle is focused on guitarist . Starting up

Happy producing everybody

10+ years professionally mixing music and films, have being working in many high end studios around south America, and I haven't been happier before with a product as with the Zen Tour Synergy Core. I'm not a 'fanboy' of any brand, I like to test everything, evaluate objectively and keep and use what works best for me, and I'm pretty sure I'm not changing interface for the next few years.

I've got the Zen Tour SC for my home studio recently and have being experimenting and making heavy duty mixes with the DSP and FPGA effects, and it works seamlessly + there's something about the hardware emulations made by Antelope that makes me feel like I'm back in the big studios tweaking the knobs, without having the issues and headaches of dusty circuits and and endless recalls. I also use some of the fx for sound design, Instinct and Auraverb takes all the credit. Can't wait to see more Third party plugins integrate to the synergy core platform.

Audio quality is the best you can get for the price range, I bought the ZT with an Edge Solo, and use it pretty much everyday recording V.O. and backing vocals for my client and I was pleasantly surprised the first time I listen at the mike and the emulations, the sound quality you get with that combination is outstanding.

At first glance the Control panel could be intimidating for some, but once you have 5 minutes tweaking and reading you can be surprised with the things you can do with the routing matrix.

I've use it in both Mac and PC, with Pro Tools, Studio One, Logic & Ableton Live, and no complains with Antelope so far.
The only complain is with Windows... just because

Best buy! Best soundcard! Best Support!

I bought Zen Tour Synergy before Xmas! So far,ALL IN ONE:
It is the best offer of this winter:Professional SoundCard,
One of the best digital studio microphone emulation,
Bitwig Studio Full,
36 Professional Plugins (plus another 4 as offer, plus other optional offer after registration )

Although at first I wasn't sure about the choice, due to the negative reviews on Gearslutz, I preferred to try and I'm not sorry for the choice made:very good quality housing, modern design, very good drivers, many routing posibilities, very good sound and preamp, high DSP power processing for working with plugins. As long time user of UAD (starting with UAD-1),I can say that the offer is better than UAD,in the same range regarding the processing power and the price of plugins.

Also,I was afraid,in the begining about customer support and the rumors that nobody will answer at your problems. It's is not true!! I received answer, even at this time of hollidays, very soon, next day,for common question(not real problems),like new offer,upgrade....
So far: BEST CHOICE!

Antelope Zen Tour Synergy Core

Have had the Zen Tour synergy core for a couple of weeks now and have recorded a combination of electric and acoustic guitar, drums, percussion and bass with excellent tone from the preamps. Plenty of gain range to play with for quiet sources, preamp noise remains low even when cranked.

Excellent flexibility with guitar re-amping and recording - For tracking I currently have it setup with clean signal in through on Hi-z input re-amp out to a pedal board and back in to a second Hi-Z input. Routing through the AFX channels to add eq and amp/cab simulation for monitoring. Excellent results for recording clean + pedal board effects + fully processed guitar tone for scratch/demo track

The routing matrix is incredibly flexible and if you have a background with physical equipment routing, patch bays, etc, it's very logical and straight forward. Extra points for the ease of saving and loading configuration for session, hardware presets and individual effects chains. Makes it simple to set up for tracking vs mixing vs Mastering, etc.

The AFX quality is excellent, my current favourites being the VEQ-HLF(which I have on basically every track), the Impressor , VEQ-4K Black, Reel to Reel (on the master bus) and the VEQ-432c which just makes every mix sound that little but sweeter. Monitoring with chains of 7 - 10 AFX in place with no noticeable latency and the addition of the Auraverb to add a nice touch of room reverb on dry sources.

Output quality through headphones (both passive and through a headphone amp) and monitor outputs is detailed and very revealing

Very happy with the Zen Tour - highly recommended

Was turned on to antelope audio by an Uncle of mine while on the fence about uad or apogee super happy with the purchase and plugins are top tier to say the least. Had a little static learning the curve and the terminology however after I set the control panel up with studio one ive never looked back . i plan to purchase more plugins in the very near future.

Best interface I have ever used, I have been using a DSP comettitive product for years now and I was very skeptical to switch platforms but I am very glad I did!

I have had no issues and everything runs perfectly, I am using an M1 mac.

The quality of the sound and preamps are hard to describe, you just need to hear them - it is miles apart from anything I have ever used, it's perfect!

The routing is out of this world and at the same time simple to use after you try it out for 30 minutes or so.

Support is good and quick to respond.

It was a hard decision to make, to switch platforms but I am extreamly happy that I am with antelope now

Hey, hello everyone !!
I recently purchased Zen Tour Synergy core and I am incredibly happy that I changed my old PME.
I have a pair of Amphion One 15 and having connected Zen Tour for the first time, I would have pulled the earplugs out of my ears )
Wider space, more transients, depth, and more accurate positioning of instruments in the mix.
At first it was a little difficult to deal with routing, but I quickly got used to it and in a couple of days I was quite fluent in patching the necessary channels
The preamps were pleasantly pleased with their transparent detailed sound!
Very cool built-in effects that I immediately began to use in my work
In general, I am very pleased with the purchase and I hope that manufacturers will improve the software part of these interfaces, because the hardware part is already perfect )

I was on the hunt for a new audio interface.

I`ve had an arturia audiofuse but gave up one me with a bad usb power connection.

Did a lot of research an initially I bought an apogee symphony desktop.
When I did all the installs and I had everything running I was really disappointed because I had a line across the screen. Also heard strange noise when I played audio. Besides that the routing capabilities are very limited compared to the Antilope Zen Tour Synergy Core. I reached out to Apogee and told me I had to send the unit back. I lost my trust in apogee and decided to return the unit.

I`m glad I returned the Apogee and ordered the Zen Tour. This thing has more power running outboard effects and more AFX to choose from.
I can connect more mics and guitars I could ever hope for.

The only thing that took me some time was to hook this thing up with my thunderbolt PCI card in Windows 10. Now everything is working fine and latency is really low.

Very happy with my Zen Tour Synergy Core so far.

I bought the Antelope Zen Tour Synergy Core and before this I had the Discrete 8 Synergy Core. I’m very happy with this audio interface, I love it! I use with a Mac M1. I use it also for my live concerts (acoustic guitar) with Pro Tools and i have no latency at all!
