Hello everyone,
I purchased an Antelope Orion Studio Synergy Core about a month ago and immediately I was able to see its strengths and weaknesses.
Aesthetically beautiful and solid. Equipped with 4 comfortable front doors and as many 8 on the rear, 2 headphones outputs and 2 front reamp outputs.
The sound is very clean and transparent and the AD / DA conversion is very precise. Antelope plugins give an extra touch to the sound that passes through it appreciably even from very low latency.
A very interesting and high quality interface.
The only drawback is the connection management software that is not immediately understandable and easy to use, therefore certainly to be improved at least in a Windows environment.

This audio interface was bought for use in a small home studio. It features multiple input & output options, which makes it really useful to connect with other devices.
The audio quality is pristine, 100% high end, and the FPGA FX are surprisingly cheap and awesome.
I use it with a 2019 macbook pro retina and the drivers are fully stable.Connected with a thunderbolt 3, it gives 32 audio channels to/from the computer.
Another key element of the package is the Control Panel software, and it is important to note that this is crucial to realising the potential provide by the impressive hardware features.
It seems that there will be even more FPGA FX from third parties in the future, so I'm looking forward to it.
In conclusion, i really enjoy and totally recommend this audio interface!

Antelope Audio Orion Studio Synergy Core:

In completing a New Build and update of our Studio we chose the Orion Studio SC.

The Sound Quality is excellent and the Mic/Line preamps' are Warm and Accurate.

Having used most of the Plugin Manufacturers we find the Phase Linearity close to the Analog Counterparts in the Studio SC. So this allows us to use out board AFX without loading the CPU...

I think we are all aware of the Clocking attributes of the Antelope and is built in.

We had multiple interfaces merged together and with the Studio SC and an Orion Studio 32+ we have replaced our interfaces completely.

PS: The technical support has been excellent, not that we have needed much.

Been an antelope user for a long time. If there is anything I can say, the antelope conversion is fantastic sounding. Latency with Mac os is great as well. I'll keep using until I can't!

I don't use the antelope plug-ins as much as I probably should but when I do use them, they do a very good job of reproducing the the hardware they are trying to emulate.

Great sounding unit & love all the features. when I got the unit I had some trouble registering the unit, it was completely my own fault. Called customer support and while waiting for a call back I ended up figuring it out myself, tech support called back within 15 mins, great response time. The unit has a beautiful dimension that is deep and musical. It took me about a week to wrap my head around the routing matrix, but once I did it all made sense and is very powerful. Im having any issue with DAW2fx plugin having pop, cracks and stutter audio issues, I called support and they tried to help, but it seems its a programming issue which I hope there are working on. All in all wonder sounding, built really well, with some minor programming issues.

I have owned an Apollo Original Silver Firewire Rack Interface for 9 years. Love Universal Audio and their products. When I recently decided to do an upgrade it was going to be the Apollo X4. Since it had pretty much the same amount of Inputs , Headphone jacks etc. And since the Apollo X8 Rack was almost 1000 bucks more for the same amount of preamps. I purchased the X4 and loved it. Loved Luna as well but was always curious about Antelope products. I kept hearing about how good their clock was and the sound quality. So when I heard about the Orion Synergy Core that had 12 mic pres and all the bells and whistles (free microphones with promotion) and about 700 bucks cheaper than the Apollo X8P I had to try it out. I was blown away by the sound of this beast. It's like someone opened up a door. The spacial imaging, clarity and detail. The only way to compare any products is to have both in your work space. And time to use them. The sound difference for me was not subtle. I really recommend people to do that. My local music store let me try both for a month. They were amazing!

I had a very hard time deciding what to keep. I was married to Universal Audio but how could I deny that Antelope sound. So I went with them. Hardest decision but best decision! Who says I can't use UA plugins still right.
There was a learning curve with their Control Panel but when you finally understand how it works you see how much you can do with it. The routing is insane. People who work in studios will learn quicker because it really is like a digital patch bay. There were some hiccups when trying to get some things to work. But the hiccups were mostly user error. So far everything is running smoothly. No unison like UA but the plugins sound great for what I have tried.
My wish is for Reverbs so let's hope they are working on that.

I really recommend people interested to get these interfaces into their workspace to test. Its the only way to hear the truth.

Cheers

Just recently upgraded my studio to The Antelope Studio Synergy Core. This interface is from another planet. The quality of the sound that you hear is crystal clear. This conversion is at a level that I have to get adjusted to. The clarity of the sound is new and reveals details in old recordings that were hidden. Reverbs tails and transients can be clearly heard. The mic preamps on this unit are clean with loads of headroom. The soundstage is deep and wide. The plugins that come with the unit are on par with UAD, Waves, and others. The power of the processor chips on the unit allow you to add enough plug in instances to do a whole mix with power left over. The software driver has been rock solid on Mac OS. No freezes, noise, or sound bursts. The only reason I gave a 4 of Ease of Use, is the lack of detailed instructions provided for the Control Panel Routing. I was able to figure it out, and it works great. But this is not just a good piece of a equipment, it is a great piece of equipment. More detailed instructions on the routing allows the user to get to the business of recording much sooner. That being said, you can easily produce release ready recordings. I will definitely recommend this interface. It will allow your home studio to compete with the big boys !

Hi everyone, mastering and mixing engineer here, this audio interface is a real added value, the conversion is amazing for the price, need not be ashamed, it is definitely fighting in another league than the competition for the price, the fx are very good in addition to my analog equipment and acustica things, I use Windows 10 in usb everything is stable, be careful however to take good cables to use the full potential of this interface (works wonderfully with mogami) as well as good speakers, but that goes without saying!

I own the original Orion Studio and I thought it couldn’t get better. Mic preamp models and Mic models are incredible. The Antelope Orion Studio Synergy Core version upgrades it’s outboard processing ability tremendously and the control panel software has many UI tweaks that I’ve been wanting since 2016. The AD/DA upgrade wasn’t exactly needed but much appreciated. The clarity is three dimensional. When considering the price per channel, it’s easily the best deal in a high-end audio interface. In this case you get much more than you pay for!

I got the Orion Synergy Core Studio to replace my Protools HD2 system. When I played music through it to run a test. There was a noticeable difference. The Orion had a better overall sound, more warmth. After I re-calibrated my system a was very happy with the results. I'm looking forward to adding the ASFX2Daw feature to it. The only challenge I had was understanding the routing matrix. I had to really go back old school to the patch bay mind set. Easy to setup and update. Looking forward to years of use.

hello from israel .

About a month ago I bought the product antelope studio synergy core. I chose it after a month of searching and testing some products . I must say that I really enjoy it. The quality of the sound and the plugins are very high quality . the operation is really cool after you understand it. It took me a while to figure out how to operate it but no more than a few hours. In addition to the interface I also got the microphone solo which is a great addition to a home studio.
In general I am very happy .
I must say that I did this review following an ad from antelope in which anyone who writes a review receives a free plugin sooo ....
.
In each case, the review is True and honest.
Thanks

I have to praise the Studio Synergy Core. I am really surprised and happy with the money spent.

I will start with what exited me the most: the quality of the converters. Pristine. I was really amazed. It's spectacular and clean. At least the monitoring and 16X outputs to my Neve 8816 are quite transparent. AD I don't do much tracking, just some synthesizers line feeds and quality seems good, with very low noise. Coming from Apogee conversion, I didn't needed time or precise comparisons to A B the differences. They were quite drastic as soon as I plugged the new gear. DA A bit more bright, but much more solid punchy lows and mids.

Regarding drivers and customer support, well I am happy so far. I am running through USB on Mac High Sierra. I didn't have any major problems but the stories behind poor customer support didn't happen to me. I got quick replies regarding my concerns, but again didn't have any deep technical problems so don't know how much r&d can take to solve software/hw issues. Sometimes the software panel may seem a bit unstable to start. Occasionally the antelope software does not detect the unit and I may have to disconnect reconnect USB cable but that's only it. Stability with pro tools is absolutly solid. Never had an issue. Recognizes all the time.

To resume, this is a very ambitious product. The stars in ease of use might not be the best but... For me would be a 3.5. Again I always say this with any product or brand: with flexibility comes complexity and in general I think the product is well-made. But things like setting a flexible metering on the TFT is not easy. The Window and sub windows navigation is not also very clear. The XY routing matrix could be a bit also more user friendly.

But then with time you figure it out even its a bit time consuming. You will have no problem. In my pov, I prefer something that is flexible and takes more time to learn but will not have limitations. Which is the case

The routing matrix in this unit is quiiite cool. There are almost no limits to route signals wherever you want. From in to outs to daw, fx headphones, re amp... Every signal is routable, easy to do loopbacks virtually if needed.. Again very clever circuit on board.

The USB feature was also what made me buy this piece. I still have a 2011 imac with only USB 2 port and for example it allowed me to make the investment bit by bit opposed to UAD for example. So clever this product can work on legacy products.

So already a big improvement and future proof. Can't wait to test afx2daw in the future when I make a thunderbolt PC investment.

Bang for buck... If we compare with competitor UAD, the features are night and day for the price. We are talking high-end conversion.

Well nailed! I hope this unit lasts many years

Además se pueden sumar 16 in/out extra via ADAT.

Antelope Orion Studio Synergy Core

The Orion Studio Synergy Core is my life saver. With other Interfaces I learned to become a work-around specialist, as there was always something that was not possible. No matter if it was Audient, Focusrite Clarett or others in combination with a MacBook Pro and Logic or Presonus S1-5. Today with my Orion Studio SC I have to learn again to simply think straightforward and believe in just doing what I imagine to achieve. Every routing idea can be realized. No latency when monitoring our band while tracking. Outstanding FX for each channel included, and more to buy on fair prices. I record FX routed and dry signal at the same time. By that I have a rough cut to share after the session right away.
But, it takes a bit of time to get used to the simplicity of handling a high end gear again.
When I confused my self due to my “old” work-around thinking way, I placed a ticket through the support website at 11:00 PM, and at 5:30 AM I had my answer to my problem. A simple solution within no time. Another question was answered at the same morning. I’m astonished.
What would I wish more?
That I’ve found and decided for Antelope 2 years ago. I would have saved a lot of time and money. And made my band happier for long, as the monitoring sound quality is crisp and clear.

I switched from my old trusty buddy Apogee Ensemble FW. I know it’s a leap but I had tried different interfaces in the past and experienced the sound of the Pure2 in a Pro Studio. Since then I was hooked. I managed to save enough cash to purchase the Orion Studio Sinergy Core, and I’m never looking back. The clarity in the sound is Prestine. The headphone output, the slick elegant design. I love the knobs. The connection options. Multiple I/O DIGITAL & ANALOG. I love the Reamp. Talk about making life easier. The live-FX is mind blowing. I love that I can process my vocals before recording and I normally use an Avalon but this sounded on the same level and I was shocked. Overall its worth every penny and I’m looking to buy the 32HD to expand my I/Os.

Seriously recommend!

The Orion Studio Synergy Core has a very clean sound to it and the PreAmps are amazing. It takes a bit of time to get it set up and configure to your recording or Mixing setup but the sounds you can get out of the Orion is awesome
