Anyone using MIdas XL48 preamp for classical recording?

Is anyone using the Midas XL48 preamp for recording of classical/acoustic type music?

It seems a tempting unit at the price point with the added convenience of the built in adat.

I intend to use it with an RME UFX - the other main contendors I was considering is a DAV BG-8 (going to the line ins in this case) or the Audient ASP008 (also adat).

How do you feel the Midas stacks up? Its a lower cost (which I like of course), but at at this stage I'm not looking to sacrifice on quality for savings - in the long run the alleged savings usually turn into a loss..

This preamp interests me too, I believe remoteness has (or had) one or more, maybe he will chime in.

I was just about post this question myself. Not for classical mind you, but does anyone have any idea whether the midas would be a bump down from the audient?
