question about 4060 lavalier

Any suggestions on how to keep DPA 4060 lavalier from being ruined by actor's sweat? Also, if a lavalier mic is ruined on set by sweat, whose responsibility is it to pay for the mic?

Really - at what temperature..?

This also means they can be used outside - in the rain - didn't know that.

Yes, this works sometimes but my question(s) are about when the mic is past the point of coming back from the zombie state (probably because the film was of the zombie vs. cheerleader genre).

Any prosthetic heavy films should be avoided
Production regard mics as consumables
Write it in your contract that they are liable for their damage
The 4060s are dunkable in a glass of water
The ECM 88 twin capsule will recover very quickly from full immersion in sea water
The 4060 is not so robust ,sweat is very salty, but they are tough.

If you can live with the high-boost grid, it leaves less of the capsule exposed to the elements.

10dB boost vs 3dB boost to the top end. Easy to EQ out as it's a pretty gentle curve.

little strips of moleskin can help lift the capsule away from the actor's sweaty skin. Wrap a thin strp around the "rim" of the grille
