interesting thought, going all the way back to 2oo2! - things have changed quite a bit since then (gear, interfacing, applications, budgets, time schedules etc.)
i've become so much specialized in my approach (in that i'm
combining tasks which used to be entirely separate) that for someone walking up to my rig, there isn't even a minor chance this person would get all the gear going within a resonable amount of time or making any sensible use of it (except for some basic work such as selecting and positioning mics or then some other tasks, depending on background/expertise)...
...while at the same time, we're still doing the same thing as some 20, 30, 40 or more years ago, which is 'moving a bit of air' (and some gear) and having fun doing so! :-)
maybe we could start another thread in which we describe our work, approach, workflow, logistics, gear etc. - then and now!
