Lots of mastering plug ins support mid-side processing and it's possible to use such tools to do LF "shuffling". I tend to use DMG Equalibrium a lot these days and one of my favorite mastering tricks is to set up Mid and Side bands with identical frequency and Q settings but complementary boost/cut. It was even easier to do this back when I was using PLparEQ because it had a special Mid+/Side- mode that could be chosen on a per-band basis. You could then boost Mid and cut Side or vice versa with a single knob.

If you're a Sequoia or Samplitude user, I draw your attention to the Multiband Stereo Enhancer (see picture) which can do pretty much the same thing or be used much more dangerously.
