criteria of the arrangement of devices

as mentioned before/elsewhere, i'm still* in the process of re-arrranging my considerable collection of (mostly digital) rack gear, which i make dependent on functional aspects first but i would be lying if i said the visual component didn't play a role.

what are your criteria?

all comments, pics, videos, types of criteria, theoretical, practical or aesthetic considerations and reasoning, experiences, anecdotes, horror or success stories etc. are welcome, regardless of your own equipment park or level of expertise - i promise i shall post a few pics once i'm done!

*for months now... - in my defence, i would like to point out that the virus has made a few projects impossible or delayed them (in some cases by years!) and so i have no immediate need for the whole rig to be ready by a certain date - and that i'm talking about 12 pieces of 12hu cases and some smaller racks.
