My inclination is, if it's a classical ensemble, to bring the main pair down to eye level or even lower and then physically move the marimba forward until it is front and center in the main pair. You likely won't even need string spots if you can arrange things right.

If there is motor noise then it's a vibraphone and not a marimba and that is a different problem.

1. How to rig a Schoeps remote cable without cutting & rewiring it - surely yours were not internal?
2. Purchasing a visually pleasing clutch assembly... I've decided to make them in the machine shop, but buying would be preferable!
3. How you made some of them telescopic... this was well beyond what I envisioned.
If you’re a little handy with adaption skills and have a DIY ethic, it’s not hard to imagine converting the Swedish product to resemble the German one !

The (zinc, not plastic) clamp adjust pictured below is from the lamp...the Schoeps version is very similar indeed.

Here’s the (plastic) Schoeps clamp, included with their stand linked above: https://schoeps.de/en/products/acces...ubes/rg-8.html

The weight of both bases is similar (5kg) but the IKEA base diameter is 28cm, the Schoeps 25cm.

I did this exactly the way mentioned above.
