Does anyone in the UK know of a supplier for the MKH8000 system who will supply the base, rod and active tube and joint for the MKH8000 system (for engineers who already have 8020s, 8040s etc) at a 'bundle' price. The individual items are expensive, high margin products. Whereas the Schoeps RC sets are well established in 'set' form (even if you don't need the CMC64, you can get a discounted price on the rest), nobody seems to sell the relevant MKH8000 items as a bundled set. Thank you in advance.

If John Willett, who posts here often, doesn't respond to this (he's UK based, with Senn supplier connections), send him a PM

B9 Audio also makes this type of stand, and it will accept Schoeps capsules. the mic amp is built into the stand. However, I am unable to find prices for their stands on their website. There are pictures and info here:

I use Sennheiser's version these active tube extensions for their MKH8000 series microphones. I believe the Sennheiser variety are a less expensive solution.

You are right, there are certain live performance video situations where they are mission critical for the look of the set.

Here are a few images from the Jon Batiste live performance Village Vanguard residency capture. In this case, I didn't have enough space for traditional microphone stands, so I decided to use our Sennheiser extension tubes and bar stands. It worked out very well.

I also included a few of pictures from a video shoot that needed to hide the stands as much as possible

All the horns and room mics had the Sennheiser extension tubes and stand bars.
We had single and double knuckle adapters for the tubes.

The learned Mr Willett is proving a little elusive in respect of this thread but I'll give it a day or two before troubling him with a PM, not least because there are probably others who'd also be interested to know if there are any UK suppliers who can provide these kits (bass, rod, clamp and active-tube overhead) as a 'package' where one pays less than the (rather pricey) sum of the price of each individual part.

Here is a link to part numbers and prices for the B9 audio stands. They offer individual parts, rods, bases, etc, as well as complete stands. Keep in mind that the complete stands include a mic amp, so only a capsule is required. As I understand it, the stands are compatible with Schoeps capsules.

I don’t know anyone who does a bundle price I’m afraid - Sennheiser only price them individually,

PS - PM sent.

I rarely mention on Gearslutz that I'm a U.S. dealer for all sorts of audio and video products and manufactures, but here it goes...

FYI: If anyone needs to purchase any of the Sennheiser MZE 8000 Series Microphone Extension Tubes, Bars, Accessories and Bases for their MKH 8000 Series Microphones, I can sell them at the best prices possible.

Since we are not a brick and mortar operation, I'm willing to give outstanding price points which in affect would be at 'Remote Possibilities... Bundle' pricing.

Let me know (in a PM,) and I will make it so.

Does anyone happen to know what that thread (diam and TPI) in the K&M base is? Its around 19.5mm or 3/4 inch OD.

Having trouble locating this K&M 3/4 to 3/8 thread adapter. Received the SPV 12 from the Schoeps dealer fine.

The K&M base has a M20 connector, so it is 20mm or 0.7874”. K&M adapters are shown here:
https://www.k-m.de/us/products/mic-s...z&p=1&o=8&n=25

But the only M20 to 3/8” adapters I can find are pipe fittings…

Sorry, I didn't see this. I just completed a second stand for a friend and I'll shoot some photos tomorrow. I am waiting for the carbon fiber tube which will arrive via UPS tomorrow.

The K+M bases use M20 x 1.25mm threads.

I got my adapters from Schoeps. At the time, I didn't know what the thread was so I sent them a picture of a complete chuck with a note explaining that I needed the silver coloured bit and they supplied them with no problems.

They just screw into the 3/8" threaded hole in the bottom of the SPV 12-3/8. I tightened mine in with a couple of spanners as I didn't plan to separate them and didn't want them coming apart every time I took the collet off a base.

Many thanks Jim and OVU. Useful additional detail. In Aus we have very limited supply of such, so will contact a local machine shop. But will also check with Schoeps dealer. Thanks for that photo, OVU, this will help.
