Parallel Compression on VOCALS (How-TO)

This is generally how I approach parallel compression on vocals. The technique changes slightly but the thoughts going into it usually remain the same.

Let me know if I was able to explain it well. Hope you learn something

Very good video.

My approach is very similar. I like the cla1176 on all button mode. Adds a little distortion that helps the vocal stand out a bit.

Good stuff

Nice. Great advice!! might have to try it.

Oddly the MCompressor is free but has a special "bite" to it that I like. But like everything else, every situation is different

Glad someone's bringing some content 'round here. Thanks dude. Another good one.

I'll add on.

A great way to add emphasis to key words and phrases is to ride the parallel channel/return. The ear loves change.

Yea good one. I always automate the parallel vocal and push it at pertinent points.

Thanks Story. Much Appreciated, and your added input is always great!

And its great that people like you and Gee actually ADD VALUE to threads as well. It makes for good conversations and I believe helps people start thinking a bit differently about how to approach sound.
