The King of da Buss

Hi I am about to buy two stereo comps. The first one is already bought. Well actually it is more of a channel strip, because thhis strip has the compressor and two high quality MicPres/DIs: The Ted Fletcher P10!

The second compressor is not chosen at the moment and I would like to read your personal recommendations for that! Would you take a Empirical Labs Fatso or the Alan Smart C2M. This unit will be used for the buss mainly!

Please choose and tell me why you chose the unit!

Thank you for the voting. But some additional comments would also be amazing!

May the Fatso enthusiast(s) tell me what he/they would enjoy more about a Fatso than about an Alan Smart C2M? I am still not sure! I like them both and they are definately both worthful buys!

I choose the Smart C2 because it will give you a fast VCA style compressor that is perfect for hip hop.

Tanks Tony, and this is the reason I will take this one, I think! Was a bit confused, because the Fatso offers more warmthening and I am always feared about too cold sound. I am sure the Fatso will be added the next time! But this time it will be C2!

Finally I took the Smart C2M and a Ted Fletcher P10 Channelstrip that is also very useful as a compressor because it has an integrated P38 without the stereo spreadening!

Now I have a lot gear and have to rebuild my studio!

Anyone in Hamburg interested in some old stuff?

A lot! This one is my King of da buss, rightnow! The magic is that it keeps the transparency of the signal while densening it a lot.
