Need a book about the music industry.

I do know it's not this board but I consider it as the most professional. So that's why I search my answer here.

I need a book about the music industry. On all the world. I need it for a long (about 30 pages) essay.
Can someone recommend me any? Definition(s), aspects, history and so on. THANK YOU.

P.S.
Yes I need books. It's some kind of a "scientific" (I guess it's not a proper word) essay.

Anyone else?
I write a "thesis" (?).
Maaan...what's the word for it?
I have to write an essay and then "defend" it... I am sure you know what I talk about.
(I am from Poland so I am sorry for not knowing some "technical" terms).

So please - recommend me a real book.

P.S.
Thanks anyway wubbzy.
Yes I do see the "Further reading" section but maybe someone already knows a book that's worth reading and has a value.

Have you checked out either of the books by Bobby Borg? Depending on what you're looking for his stuff is pretty good. If you want practical books, I'd check them out. One can be found here.

Amazon.com: The Musician's Handbook, revised edition: A Practical Guide to Understanding the Music Business (Musician's Handbook: A Practical Guide to Understanding the Music): Bobby Borg: Books

and his site is here:

I'd recommend:

Jimmy Cauty, Bill Drummond: The Manual

and (if you can read German):
Tim Renner: Kinder, der Tod ist gar nicht so schlimm!

Cheers,
Bert

I just googled a bit: the Tim Renner book is available in English and it's called "Death Is Not So Bad - The Future of the Music Industry".

Read it - he should know...

Cheers,
Bert
