Record from tv, movies, internet, etc.

I want to sample some stuff off some old movies that I have. What is the best way to go about this? (I do not own a mic or preamp)

I guess I am saying what is the best way to get these samples? I am willing to buy a mic, but the less money i spend, the better. I do not need top notch quality.

just some cables to hook up your tv set.

I've recorded off DVD, just take the RCA audio out and plug it into whatever mixer/soundcard you have. Easy.

To record audio off of Youtube or Myspace I use a little program called soundtap. Need a bugs bunny sample? Famous speech? BAM it's all therethumbsup
