An important aspect of the ASR-10 is being overlooked (or I missed it?)...the quantizing character of it's sequencer.

Just like the MPC, the ASR's quantizing algorithms were unique (and provable so, there have been analysis done and documented). Most producers I knew who usedit as a 'secret weapon' were recording their sequences via the internal sequencer and then dropping those as loops.

Of note, the 16th, !6th triplet, 32nds, and 32nds triplet (the triplets being the ASR's 'swing' here).

A tripplet will swing on any machine. That's nothing ensoniq exclusive.

I have a question tho. I want to find a way to set my chops up in a way that they would cut each other off kind of like mono mode on a mpc with my EPS?

That function is found in the manual.

Edit - Layer - Lyr Glidemode = trigger/mini mode.

You can download all eps/asr manuals from thesoniq.com.

Thanks. I couldn't find a manual for the Eps classic there. I have the classic.

Not the point, just there for clarity in case someone reading was not aware of these terms and their relatedness. The algorithms for sixteenths / triplets remain 'unique', no matter the word it self's 'exclusiveness'. I am noting which 'quantize' algorithms where popular (given their uniqueness), not the general definition of 'swing' or 'triplet'.

Same operating system. 98% of the functions are the same.

Rack should be the same gain-wise as the keyboard version, have you turned boost on for your low gain tracks? I think it's under EDIT>AMP>BOOST>ON

that always made my drums almost too hot lol. Oh and the normalize function helps as well

About the ASR-10 "gritty" sound...

Only the AD converters add this gritt. DAs are clean.
