Altec, Lansing, JBL... L26

Your a JBL guru.

This guy I am doing some work for has some JBL's connected to his TV at home..

I suggested he bring em over while we're mixing just to see what they're like.

I guess I acted too interested. he doesnt want to sell em to me.

JBL L26's

They look old, hooked em up, they sound OK, and I mean just OK.

They have prett good imaging, but are a little bright, and they lack bass.

I still think they're cool though.

what cha think of the 70's era of JBL.

Your gonna love this site. Lansing heritage .

I found this while searching for info on the L26's which turn out to just be some mediocre home stero speakers. I'd still like to have em but they arent as cool sounding as they are cool looking. The ones in my possession are a little different as they have an adjustable crossover on the front of the cabinet that lets you adjust the tweeter level.

Just an interesting piece of gear i wanted to share with ya's.

should I beg for these things? like i said.. they dont sound very good but I could get used to them for mid fields which I lack in my studio. what do ay think I should pay for them.

Get you're self a pair of L200's. I'm refinishing a pair at my shop and they are nothing short of huge. I had a set of old JBL decades and loved em, but they burnt. Now my choice for midfields are a pair of Tannoy SRM10b's with a Phase linear 400 amp and a Bag end infra sub for the quake.
