Hi Klaus and Frederik,

I spent some time with the HEDD Type-20 Mk1 3-way monitors; the bass image was remarkable in it's balance within the soundstage. Other monitors I've tried seem to excite the room resonances more (distracting from the soundstage) whereas the Type-20 didn't waste the bass...and that even without the Linearizer engaged.

Is there a specific design philosophy related to the well-imaged bass?

Hi Arthur,

no special design philosophy besides to do without "how to impress the innocent".

The Lineariser by the way that flattens the phase to well below 100 Hz has a similar effect, we found it better contoured in direct comparisons.
