Tips on getting lead guitars to cut through just right?

Your work is often so well gelled; but you also make the lead guitar perfectly cut through the mix (I mean dead on) Any quick tips?

No quick tips, I’m afraid, but I re-amp stuff I get in for mixing quite often.
This way, it’s easier to find a sound that works for the mix.

I’d also avoid having a lead sound that is recorded with the same setup (especially the cab) as the rhythm guitars. That makes the most important tips I can give. It might make complete sense, but I see it all too often: “This is our sound, let’s record all guitars with it”...
