Guitar amp methodology and drum tuning

Hi Jens,
Great fan of yours, I really enjoy your work, and thanks a bunch for the chance to post some questions. I have two questions;

1. What method do you go through when making a guitar tone (what order do you fx pick amp/cab in, what do you listen for as you dial it in, etc ).
I realize that this is of course a lot of ground to cover, but anything you'd like to share would be awesome, as I am a great fan of your tones.

2. Any favourite drum tuning scheme for snr and Toms?

Again thanks a bunch for doing this!
Best regards Christian

Cheers Christian.

I tend to use whatever amp I think will do the job, and then I start finding the right cab and mic position/blend. When that is done, I start trying different amps and pedals (and perhaps guitars and even what pick and strings to use). I love trying different pedals and combinations of pedals. The cornier, the better.

About drum tuning, it depends on what we’re going for and how many toms there are, what heads are used, and which tuning range the drums “can take”. Good sounding is more important to me than the exact pitch.
