Manley and " The Ring "

Ater much anticipation I went off to the movies the other day to see "The Ring". My post won't turn into a movie review because I don't want to start on how much potential there was for this disjointed mess to be actually really good, but what did interest me during the non eventful climax was that the guy had a something near his killing television that looked very Manleyish. Was this a manley hi-fi amp or was I just really confused?

I saw the movie and thought it was pretty good. I'd see it again.

I was trying to figure that out too.

I will have to see that movie again........It was a cool flick, but a lot of things did not add up for me. I have plenty of questions on that flick.

I loved this movie. Most intelligent horror flick I've seen in a long time. I'm curious to see the original japanese version. There's a web site that has more than you'd ever want to know about it, including some spoilers, so caeful if you plan on seeing it.

I saw the amp too... looked vaguely like a Stingray.

The only on-the-small-screen appearances of our gear I have seen are:

1. VH1 Behind the Music Shania Twain; Ref. Cardioid Mic
2. VH1 Legends Queen; Ref Gold Mic
3. Primetime (or one of those shows) interview with Dianne Warren; Voxbox was right behind her the whole time.

I don't think i have seen anything of ours on the big screen yet.

Wait a minute there EveAnna. The Gold Ref was one of the star of a small in studio segment on an artist I was working with in a french language tv special around here!

Of course, the footage would have been far better with a Massivo and a Vari-MU in the rack as well...

BTW, considering the talent (or lack of there of) in question, it could almost be thought of as an horror movie too...

Lyle Caldwell just posted this on rec.audio.pro

I was watching "Live from Baghdad" on HBO the other night, and at one point
the characters had to use a "cheap and ****ty" TV studio to broadcast from.
Everything in the studio looked very 50s, old and antiquated. Kinda funny
that in the midst of all that ham radio auction junk were two Manley units
(I think they were El-Ops, though they were only on screen a few seconds).
Wish I could find run down studios with that kind of gear gathering dust.
