Looking back at it that album, do you think you could do something like that in today's recording environments? All the work involved in making that album would not be "encouraged" today due to budget/time contraints, i.e, syncing the tape machines for "Us and Them", the roto tom tunings in "Time" and stuff like that.
Do you think you could achieve similar results using more modern techniques, or was the gear of yesteryear crucial to the sound of DSOTM?
If anything it would be easier now. Digital delays instead of tape delays, rototoms could be copied and pasted, etc. etc. But DSOTM does have an analog sound which would be more difficult to duplicate.
