I'm thinking about getting one of these baby's along with a AD16X for a Mix Plus system. The question I have is how will it improve my sound. I know the Apogee converters are better than the Digi's. But what I specifically wanted to know is will this allow me to record at 96kHZ or 192kHz on MixPlus or am I still limited to 48kHZ because I'm using MixPlus?

You are still limited at 48 Khz because you are using a Mix system.
About how much it will improve the sound, it's hard to answer because your ears are the only judge.
I read comments about the Apogee Rosetta 800, some people said it was night and day between the Rosetta 800 and a 888/24 and others wasn't very impressed by the difference ...

The X-series converters (AD-16X, DA-16X) do not support the X-DigiMix card due to the limited bussing architecture of the Mix system. The X-DigiMix card can be used with the Rosetta 800 and 200.
