Hmm. Didn't get a lot out of that. Not much detail about the functionality of vca grouping. Render in place will be awesome, especially if I can do it to more than one track at a time and it intelligently names the files. No mention of multi touch support. Guess we'll see what tomorrow and the website update brings...

Looks really good indeed! I especially like the UI enchantments. Also VCA sounds really good. Hopefully there will be a demo out soon!

I would prefer that they finish C7.5 first, I'm on Mavericks and the graphic issues and bugs (and click and pops) makes unusable to me. I'm way long time user of Cubase but in the same system Pro Tools is working almost smoothly (and I say almost).

Bounce in place is still just a shadow of Studio One's track transform. Steinberg is really behind the curve with that one. Oh well, that will be yet another paid upgrade in a few years I'm sure.

Me too, I like the beard than the Cubase features . I mean, I really liked the dockable windows and the render in place, but these kind of improvements must have been updated in Cubase 7.5 itself rather than increasing the upgrade prices for long cubase users.

I haven't used Studio One but know that this will be a feature that will come in handy for me. What else have Studio One implemented to Bounce In-place?

VCAs, Bounce in Place, and performance enhancements! Definitely getting this day one.

And yes, I agree that VCA groups for the price of Cubase 8 is a steal.

Does window re-size apply to any plugin on a windows system than? Also can you assign chords to the pads and play them from one note on a controller? Not very clear so far but looking forward to the update anyway

This is dissappointing... I mean, really... Ripping off Studio One basically, how embarrassing.

Can someone explain to me what´s so great about vca as opposed to grouping faders and having them to move accordingly when moving one of the faders ?

Render in place is nice, I might update only for that, but the way they done that is just an improved macro basically. Better than nothing I guess.

Also I hope they solved the "plugin disappearing behind the mixer" problem.

I'm still hoping for macro controls ala ableton live. How come you can't control several parameters with one knob in cubase? That´s beyond me.

Anyway I'm always happy when there's a cubase update

I wonder how long the Nuendo crowd will have to wait for the VCAs being that I would imagine they've been loudest about them since it's a major super useful post production mixing feature!

Props to Steinberg for actually listening to their users. They've been pumping out big updates faster than any other DAW recently. Looking forward to trying the demo to see what workflow improvements have been made.

Is the window handling / docking only for PC or also for OS X?

As an S1 user since day 1 and a long time Cubendo user (who switched to S1) I wouldn't call it "embarrassing nor rip off" or see it that way. Every one boroughs ideas from other including this crazy competitive DAW world. And I'm really happy that Steinberg is Pro-Active delivering features that Cubase users have been craving for long time. Way to go Steinberg and good thing for Cubase users.

VCA feature and the little but so important enhancement they brought into the MIX console alone is worth the upgrade to be honest, check this video:
The Linking features are ones that i'm still dreaming to see in S1 hahaha

I hope that Studio One user will see VCA coming to version 3 and hopefully it will be for NAMM Winter this year cuz Version 3 is been long overdue ;-)

Enjoy guys and embrace the new features or add-ons
