Yamaha PSR 9000 Pro had angled wheels (year 2000).

It's unlikely, but if the demand is there, who knows?

Thanks James, I always find it odd that a Japanese company would release their products later domestically later than the rest of the world. That's totally the opposite of camera companies, for instance! Ah well...!

Well, good news!
The MP11/MP7 were officially announced for the Japanese domestic market earlier this afternoon:

I would have liked to have provided this information in my initial response to your query, but I had to follow the company line - I hope you can understand.

Cheers,
James

Hello Kawai James,

Yesterday I went to my local piano store to test the ES7 and it is an impressive piano but, after researching, I think MP7 will fit my needs better, as I will use the unit more as a MIDI controller than a stage piano per se.

I would like to know if the modulation/pitch wheels get translated to MIDI signals so I can use them to control my VSTi's. Also, can the other knobs/faders be routed through MIDI so I can also use them with my VSTi's? It would be very nice if I could use the ADSR with external plugs.

Thank you.

The PB/Mod wheels can be turned On or Off for each of the four zones. When a zone is set to 'EXT' (external) the PB is locked to sending pitchbend, while the Mod wheel can be assigned to any CC#.

Yes. The zone faders are locked to sending volume (CC#07), while the four control knobs can be assigned to any CC#.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
James

Great deals can be found on the MP7 due to the release of the MP7SE. I just traded out my Casio PX5S for this board and even though this is now an older model.....my god, it plays and sounds so amazing. This is an inspirational and simply beautiful stage piano. For $1200 on a demo model......very happy. I used to control a KronosX-61 with the Casio but must say that my new live rig with the MP7 - wow.
