Ok, let me test it a bit and I'll upload something else...

I don't understand what's happening here, all this beating around the bush. All those demos sound alike, don't they? The same pre-delay / early reflection is clearly there on all REV250 clips, I don't see what bitrates got to do with it.

Bitrates?
I asked about samplerates, because a wrong scaling with samplerate could set wrong timing in predelay and reverb

GMR's last test shows that we are hearing the same things,so it is not an installation/samplerate issue. Now we can move on and I'm recording some tests.

Ok, sorry, I meant samplerate. Maybe it's relevant then.

Anyway, I'm confused here. On one message you say there's a huge pre-delay that you don't have, on another one you say there's nothing new.

Maybe you are listening to so many nuances as a creator. To me all those demos sound alike and if we indeed are hearing the same things, then there clearly is no problem.

I'll hope for an additional algo to be added later that has a pre-delay/earlyref similar to those other EMT250 emulations. I've never used a real one so I can't argue which ones true to it.

I find the early ref / pre delay a tad distracting as it is now. It must be a matter of source material, because the examples on your site sound great.

Yes, I was confused by samples, i just wanted to be sure we are listening to the same things.

Testing the algorithm and uploading some samples without this gap. Completing the new algorithms in the meanwhile

We can discuss them all here if you want, it is useful and fun.

Here we go

This is a new mode (reverb energy comes in faster, reduced early reflections level), let me know what you think:

Rev250_short

P.S. I'm really loving this reverb with all this modulation...

Whoa this seems a lot better, that ER delay is not annoying anymore. when can I have it ??

Sounds better now. Is there two different revs here? In the first loop i thought i heard the transient repeating more than in the latter one. I might be imagining, but the latter sounds better to me.

Ok, so it is about the reverb energy coming late. Now it is faster.
The first one is the new one, with higher reverb level than the second one, which is UAD from that cowbell test.

Adding a new modern mode and releasing it. But we can keep testing here.

Great news. Ok so it was the UAD I preferred, how about having a really subtle (or really short?) early ref like UAD in one mode . That'd be a winner for me.

Been trying to demo ERS version, but can't get the demo to work. Would be nice to compare to something, right now I'm commenting by my own taste.

Yes, that was my idea (now I got it, it s not ERs, which are well defined, it is how fast the reverb energy comes in).
We can fine tune this one and add a plate mode. The same algo can become very platey. No depth, lots of body e.g. on a snare. It was one idea of mine for modes 2

definitely better - but there still is a 'edge' to the earlier part of the reverb - compared to the UAD which is just a smooth reflection and tail...is it possible to smooth it out further?

Working on a new sample
Please note that in SK sample the reverb level is higher, though.

improvement in the reflection

the second example has more width and slightly higher level?

Yes they are not identical, just comparing the character, but this mode is cleaner than the first one

Ok, so we can make them official and release an update?

P.S. do you think a true stereo mode is interesting? Note: the original one computes one channel and makes it stereo, true stereo would require about 1.5 times the cpu.

Looking forward to this update - I don't know if it's possible to have true stereo as an option. Personally I don't mind the extra cpu drag, others may disagree, so to have both options would be nice.

I made a purchase, quintosardo.

I would vote for a stereo-in option...

I was just playing around with PSP Springverb and I think it has a stereo->stereo option. Would be nice to have an option, I think this used about 5 % on my laptop so 1,5x wouldn't make that much difference even if it was always on. Soundwise I don't know how it'd differ.

Ok, the new modern mode is ready and working.

It is true stereo, two independent reverb channels for left and right.

Working on some stereo audio samples to show why it is useful
