Right up front I'm going to say that these are a HUGE improvement over my previous solution, the Recoil Stabilizers. I had to buy 2 pairs because the Twins are too big for just one pair so all told it was $200. The first thing I noticed was the image both left to right and front to back became much more 3D. A little hard to describe in any other way. More information but much cleaner presentation, made me fall in love with the Focals all over again. A very cool thing is that they completely isolates the speakers from the console, with the recoil stabilizers there was always this boomy thing that I couldn't get rid of. That's gone now. I really think that this is the best money I've spent in a long time. VERY recommended

What if you put the IsoAcoustics ON TOP of the Recoil pads?

Man I really don't know, the Recoils are a little wider than my meter bridge and with the Twins they used to sag a little ( That and my need for the monitors to be at a higher plane were the reasons I started to look for another solution ). I have the the Isos at their max hight and feel that they would be a little unstable so personally I wouldn't risk it. That said there is absolutely no need to do it. These completely isolate the speakers from the console. The only thing that I've seen that might compare/beat (maybe) to the effectiveness of these are the Sound Anchors that my friend has at his place and those were $500. For the money spent (and probably a lot more) I know of nothing that comes even close. This company has my attention in a big way

I see there are a couple of other sizes/versions:

I can't find the others mentioned (or in stock) anywhere though - anybody out there got any idea if/when they'll be shipping?

They told me at Sweetwater that the bigger ones are months away, hence the reason I got 2 pair

Is there going to be any sort of full size floor version of these? Around 36" or so? Or JUST desktop?

Think I might have to try these out. Anyone else using these?

Also, I read at mixonline this statment: The stands ship with two lengths of tubing, 3 inches and 8 inches, which are designed to optimize listening positions in virtually any studio or home environment.

So you have both sizes included. Nice...

Hey,

I browse this forum a lot, but never posted. I was actually seeking out some stands for my monitors as they sat really low on my desk, and I came across these. I ordered them immediately as it was just what I was looking for and I can't express how happy I am with them.

I have the m-audio bx5a's, which are definitely not the greatest monitors, and I admittedly hated them. I hardly used them, and just used my headphones to record and mix (which was very difficult). These opened them up quite a bit, instead of just muddy bass, I get a nice bass tone, and the mids now come through beautifully. I feel like I have a new pair of monitors.

My one complaint - these are not adjustable height wise (they're either 3 inches or 8 inches off your desk). So with my desk with the 3 inch stands they're about half an inch lower then I would like them to be. Though they do include pegs so you can tilt them forward or back a bit, I prefer them straight up and down. It's not a big enough complaint for me to be upset about, but I thought I would throw it out there as fair warning.

Highly recommend them.

Could you take the 8" pipes and cut them down to where you need them? Or better yet, add the 1/2" to the the 3" ones. I don't know as I have yet to receive mine, just wondering.
