Just saw this... and the Beast is coming out soooon!!!! Hahahahahaah maaaaaaamamia!!!

Just can't wait to see where Stein/Yamama will unveil this and what workflow and features they have added in N5... really just curious! The DAW world is getting very fun and interesting as the time passes with the new technology possibilities that we have now!!!!!

Maybe it is because the wait has been so long, but the new software from Steiny seem very exciting. WL7 also looks like it will be fantastic.

Now if only it were not made by Steinberg.....hmmm....

I use and love Nuendo (for the most part). But all I can say is....
No Mac 64 bit.
No Mac 64 bit.
No Mac 64 bit.
No Mac 64 bit.
Repeat.

As a long time user of Cubase, why would I move to Nuendo? Legitimate question...Aren't they basically the same?

Nuendo has a much more advanced automation system (Touch Collect Assistant, Fill commands, Virgin Territories), post-production editing features, from mono up to 10.1,... Also - how about EuCon, Machine Control, AAF, Virtual Katy support, ...
Otherwise, yeah - they are very similar.

Considering I have no idea what half of that is, I guess I don't need it. heh

Agreed! Haha

If Nuendo is roughly 3x the price of Cubase I'm hoping it has a lot of improved everyday workflow features compared to Cubase 5...Otherwise it seems rather pointless for Cubase 5 owners like me to upgrade if the only improve features are obscure things that I don't need....but maybe they'll release Cubase 6 soon

One thing I would love to see is being able to mute or solo a bunch of tracks at once without requiring the tracks to be in a folder. Am I missin something or does this seem like an easy function to impliment? I know in Logic you can swipe over the Mute or Solo buttons as if you were doing it on a real console...it made it super fast!

I have moved from Nuendo to Presonus Studio One Pro until further notice. Yes, Steinberg needs to wake up

N4 on 64bit Mac runs good, no complaints.
When I get N5 I hope it won't run - I wish it would FLY

You moved from a 2k$ daw to something else? Why? Not doing Post anymore?

Yeah I have my eye on Studio One. The imminent 1.5 update seems a giant step in the right direction. I like the layout a lot. Just needs to mature a bit and I might take the plunge myself. I grow weary of Steinberg shenanigans but don't get me started.

S1 is my candidate here too.. i'm just waiting to finalize building my new DAW system very soon and that's it... I can start the migration. I loved S1 since day one and still on it!!

But still curious like everybody else to see what Steiny/Yamama will bring this time!

Cheers!

So Nuendo 4 is FINALLY catching up to Cubase 5, Im not excited at all. Just in time for Cubase 6 to show up and keep ahead of Steinys flagship app. They make NO SENSE AT ALL to me

Steinberg would say you don't know what you are talking about. Fredo said recently a company shouldn't go by what a customer wants or needs and only by what the company needs. So it makes perfect sense.

You can Solo/Mute a bunch of tracks at once by:

1. Using one of the master Solo/Mute buttons will Solo/Mute all the channels and then you can just pick which ones you don't want to.

2. You can lock together a bunch of channels and solo/mute them altogether.

Was a Fail of a first release after it was built up to be the greatest DAW ever. I guess 1.5 is gonna be the greatest update ever.
