@ dSONIQ just bought the pro pack, posting a question here as it might be useful for other users as well.
I've been testing the software with my old AKG K240 studio (55ohm, made in Austria), but I'm afraid the profile is for the new version (made in China).
If this the case, how can I set the software to match my old K240?

If you get a more neutral sound with profile enabled, you don't need to worry. Everyone can check the profile during free trial period.

If you feel that the match is not 100% you can reduce Correction and Presence until you get better sound. Also you can use Brightness, Tone and Pressure controls.

Yes, I saw and studied all the options they have for HD600 series but in the end I preferred to buy the stock ones because that's what dSONIQ used when measuring

Have the Max’s for 2 weeks and they are amazing. The ANC is stellar, to the point where even lossy listening is not really a biggie, since the outside noise it virtually cut off you hear more of the music than with regular headphones. For instance, when I get to work on editing outside the studio with my ATH-m50x you still pick up a lot of ambient noise, which you get used to. With the AirPods it is an entirely new perception. With the added bonus of no significant-other complaints being heard or a kid yelling and having fun(4yo).

Haven’t used them for mastering yet, but I can confirm the detail is stunning. With Realphones, it compares with control room listening : the stereo field and depth in the low end is really good.

Also this combo is not fatiguing, highs are clear but not icepicky and the detail in the low mids is perhaps what I like most,

I'm blown away by what i'm hearing with that standard closed back headphone setting ( already enjoying so much the Crowded club, Fars, SUB etc.. all tweaked to fit my feelings and ear canals.. with Great REF Tracks i know very well of course )

Was just curious about your settings on the Closed Back HP setting

Here i can't go further 16% on the Response slider for the dynamic closed studio headphones ( VSX Correction at 77% )

My VSX headphones broke again so I was about to give Realphones a proper trial out of necessity, but when I activated the trial I only selected VSX not thinking I'd have a use for the M40x's I had unopened in the box.

Is there any way to add additional headphones for the remainder of a trial period?

I tried using the generic profile, but I quickly remembered why the M40x's were sitting in my closet!: lol:

I switched to my trusty $10 CAD Panasonic Ergofit earbuds and the sound was night and day better. I'll try Realphones with those then see how close it matches what I'm used to in VSX assuming the crazy glue holds.

Just purchased the Audeze MM500 and trying to get used to what I’m hearing. It’s scary because I’m not used to producing/mixing on headphones - feels like I’m starting again regarding EQ etc!

Even more scared to put them through Realphones which changes things even further

Gonna need to listen with lots of reference tracks for a while methinks.

Transient response is actually incredible on MM500 - much more defined than my MDR-7520. The Sony’s sound very scooped in comparison.

Translation to my Genelec 8040a nearfields is WAY closer on the MM500.

Would love to utilise Realphones - maybe using the standard open back hp setting would be a good place to start.

Yeah, my beloved MDR-7520 are hyper sleeping in the drawer since VSX for me.. even with Realphones, they can't cope.. in lot of departments.

I use easy mode and no room simulation. Just the correction.

Clicking the top-right icon to change the main picture does nothing. Would like to see the correction curve not the studio.

Is this expected behaviour?

Yes, because we desided not to overload Easy mode with features. Corrected frequency response is always shown in the top-right corner.

Installed v. 1.8.2 but it still says 1.8.191 under license info. I wonder why, tried to install two times without luck on my Win 10 system. Closed / Quit System-Wide in the system tray before installation.

Yes rearranging presets would be a nice addition.

And also that Realphones remembers the active preset name used on a project. When you reopen now, the name is gone, you only see the settings.
Instead let's be able to save the preset (or snapshot) name, together with the settings so we can see it, also when the project and Realphones are reopened. Please!

I really appreciate it, but the M40's are back in the box since Panasonic earbuds were night and day better.

The broken VSX are usable if I keep gluing them, new pair is here on Monday (while disappointed they broke Slate's support has been exceptional.)

I think at some point I had Realphones on in my Reaper monitoring fx while thinking I was still using VSX.

Anyway. I was checking some reference mixes with bass notes down to A0 (27.5Hz) and decided to check the club and I was really impressed with the representation. I decided to purchase Realphones based on that alone and will use it along with VSX.

I like the built in limiter and that the software doesn't need to reduce the volume as much (though it's likely good for my ears anyway). So far I haven't noticed any of the phaseyness I hear with certain Slate rooms (cars especially). I can get used to it, but not completely.

Once I try the other emulations I'll be able to form a better opintion

Very simple. Just add all the fx you need to your output and switch them on & off

@ dSONIQ - I'm curious as to whether there are plans to deliver a profile for the new Audeze MM500s. I've been living with a pair for a couple weeks to try out, and I'm leaning towards keeping them. Would be lovely to hear you'll be adding them to your headphone portfolio. Thanks in advance!

We'll be glad to add Audeze MM500 as soon as we get them for measurement. Since the release of a new expensive model, some time must pass before we have the opportunity to measure it. Usually, if it becomes successful, then there are no problems. This happened with Audese LCD-X 2021 revision. We were afraid that it would be difficult to get it. Thanks to the improvement in the sound, they have become very popular in their price range. So we already have measurements of about half a dozen copies.

For popular cheap headphones is much easier for us to get the profile. For instance, we just purchased Philips SHP 9500, which are out of production, on a service similar to eBay. They are loved as "poor mans" alternatives to Sennheiser HD 650 and we will add a profile for Philips SHP 9500 soon.

We can't purchase Audeze MM500 just for measurement and collection, but thanks to the requests on the forum, they definitely fell into the area of ​​our interest.

Ok, finally in the studio and 'lo and behold I actually remembered (yes, a week late but...)

When I did my original mix I hadn't set up the headphone calibration at all. It said "closed headphone generic" and did the mix just like that using the spaces/rooms etc without any calibraqtion specific to Realphones. Just like that it translated beautifully. Right now I'm using the default settings for my VSX headphones and it works even better.

It's weird, of my 3 monitoring solutions this one is the least "Impressive/Real" sounding but damn it translates magnificently. I've said this before but I think it bears repeating, If I could have only one it would probably be Realphones WITH the VSX headphones. For work I'm not looking to be impressed, I want translation and all of my solutions do. This one just makes translation that extra bit easier, for me at least.

TBH I've not had to tweak the stock settings at all. I know I didn't give you much (I honestly thought I'd done more to the settings but it turns out, no I didn't)
