Yes, I made it sound like something innovative.
Perfect example of marketing bull**** that anyone can come up with.

I am guessing this is the new improved version with the Dynamic Depth Scaler and Perceptual Transient Focus and Defocuser

I like that they didn't just update the look, but actually the code. I hate when dev's, update legacy plugins Wii yeh a fancy new gui. How about update the code to reflect correct technology.

The main issue with the old one was distortion saturation and gain stage , we pushed to get it right as it was implemented on last stuff , fairchild andLA s ...so yep i think it reached a maturity that i salute !!

This release is a big deal. The only issue I had with V1 was it's too easily overly distorted and over-saturated. I feel this could be the best native 1176 option now.
It seems these guys do listen to user feedback!

VLA-FET is too clicky sounding on the transients. I've never used an 1176 HW sound like that on the transients. not a fan here.

I've been liking the Trackcomp, it has two models, A and D. But more important to me is the Q Bias parameter, it makes the compressor act more aggressive, and in a good way.

Are these modeled or using some kind of IR?
I always assumed they were modeled until I saw this. Or is this just clumsy English?

no , pure modeling

Here we go amigos :

Here's a deep moment spent with the new Gem comp 76 from overloud , an update witch is BIG and could be easy considered a new release so the added stuff are dope !!!

1) Plugin tour
2) Used on drum buss (acoustic) @4 min 30
3) Used on Loop @11min
4) Used on kick @ 18 min 30
5) Used on bass @ 23 min 15
6) Frequency scan technic showed and explained @ 31 min 45
7) Used on 808 based beats @ 36 min 36 & second @ 45 min 50
8) Used on deep house beat @ 51 min
9) Conclusion with pro's and con's @ 57 min 30

Notice guyz that i made a heavy testing verus the real thing (not in this video) with the CLA , Purple Audio , Fet comp of softube , Mc dsp ect .... and i can say now that for me the closer is the Gem , test it guyz don't trust me ....

Will try to do a video on thos HW versus software tests , but still thinking about .

Great! Will have a look at this. Can’t stay away from an 1176 release! I always quite like what the V1 included in Superior Drummer 3 does but having gone through another round of tests at 96khz recently, I found the UAD collection still the best for not losing depth and pushing hard.

It s a great one and really close also .... but the gem is superior to others in my test when it came to getting close to a rev D , now after that there s a density and consistancy with hardware that i matched only with the vertigo vsc 3 in the plugin world .

The mcdsp misses that snap even at fast setting that the overloud and hardware still have .
The one that gets super close to the hardware was the purple audio and the softube fet. The thing is that wen intry to push thel like the hardware , the distortion kicks in cause of the fast release , while the overloud we can master this parameter !!
If you use the headroom parametr on the PA , it will also calm down the compressionleading in less density ...

Just curious - what was the thinking behind reversing the attack and release knob behavior? On the original hardware (and most of the emus out there) fastest is clockwise.

Really like this, maybe even like it better than Trackcomp from my limited testing.
Jeezo, ever tried Trackcomps offerings?

My only nag as of now is:
- First instace opened in S1 takes a very long time to open which makes my Faderport loose connection
- Dry/wet don’t seem to work propely becuase I can’t volume match with the dry no matter how i try (please clarify if I’m doing it wrong)

I think Overloud need to pay more attention to their phrasing in the emails ... the email says: "Free to all registered users!" this can be easily understood as a free product to all Overloud's users whether they own v1 or not.

Yep strange but in sync with values displayed , the first time i tried a 1176 it was logical for me !!! at all ..... but now we're used to that weirdness
