GA800 vs Sony c800g

C800G wins in both tests but c100 kicks the GA800 in the butt and also the lower price makes it a steal.
Those are the best tests I've found on You Tube so far.
GA800 is harsh and ain't worth it in my opinion.
I hope they also do a cm800t vs c800g test.

I think they should reduce the price for the orginal c800g now with the return to the market.
Yesterday I told my friend I wouldn't pay more than 5k for a mic and that the c800g should cost around that.
I think the Ga800g smokes the sonyC100. Had the C100, while its a very nice microphone, It not better then the GA at all, especially after it warms up! There is also a new power supply with fet based stabilization circuit that takes the GA to the next level and its now even more comparable to Sony C800g.

if it takes the harshness out of the GA800g then yes of course.
We need a test with the new power supply.

I like the various models of the c800g for the Townsend Labs Sphere L22 much more than the CM800T and I don't think that they sound close to each other. Ended up selling the CM800T

Even though you think he's not credible telling from my personal experience I'd think he's right. The guy who made the CM800T never even touched a c800g, right? Given the fact that a professional recording having drop ins from the Sphere L22 into a verse recorded with a c800g and it's absolutely impossible to tell which parts were recoded with the c800g and which were recorded with the L22 without any further adjustments (EQ or whatever) being made to the L22 in order to make the c800g model match the real c800g, I'd assume that the L22 with the c800g doesn't only sound better to my ears but it's also sounding how it is supposed to sound - while sounding different than the CM800T. And the mic that the guy was promoting seems to sound very good. Maybe it's a hidden advertisement but that alone doesn't automatically make his claim false.

Maybe it's a matter of personal taste, at the higher level?
I've been impressed with the various CM800T clips.
Along with Paul's evaluation of them.

FWIW at least on me, barring a Primo original,
within 251 styles for example...

I'd only have "full faith and confidence" in a Bock 251/Upton 251 "tuned dark" by Dallas/upcoming Heiserman 251-partly as I've sung through Eric'scapsule. (Haven't tried a Lawson yet)
Chris
P.S. I did think the Sphere sounded kinda 2D.
Sorry to say that, but I tried a variety of
emulations. (But not the Sony to be honest)
