You bought those plug-ins knowing exactly how the licensing works and you didn't sign up for PACE ZDT as it seems. What does iZotope have to do with this?

Yes, i`ve bought these plugins, no i dont know how iLok/Pace changes licensing and/or about ZDT until yesterday.

I dont want to argue here about iLok ripping of people who bought a product no aware of additional costs as its not a subscription - its already full paid.

I only want to know if there is a way that i can still use "my" EA plugins without spending more money to a shady company like iLok.

Since iZotope products supports authorization "Online, iLok, Challenge/Response (Offline), and our iZotope Product Portal application" im pretty sure there is a way to make this work.

I can proof ive bought the plugins from EA.

You're pretty much asking for a favour, a nice gesture. Write to iZotope and Exponential, maybe they can help you out. Best luck with your request!

Is there any change about licensing?

I got a broken iLok (not my fauilt, just stopped working) and i wont pay any cent to iLok/Pace whatever, no 49$ recovery fee and/or 55$ shipping from europe.

I guess i wont be able to use all the software anymore i got on the iLok but i would be very grateful if there is any option that i still can use Phoenix and Excalibur i`ve bought a few years ago.

You'll be able to use all of your stuff, but you are going to have to report the iLok as broken and probably return it to PACE. PACE will replace any broken iLok (along with all the licenses on it) at no charge. I don't know anything about shipping charges ($55 sure seems high). But you won't know anything until you start a ticket with PACE. That's not an iZotope policy; it's a PACE policy and it was the same under Exponential Audio.

Once you get the license situation straightened out, you can easily move your Phoenix and Excalibur licenses to your machine. You won't need the iLok for them. That's a change we instituted about 6 months ago.

I tried to open an RMA at iLok already, then i saw the shipping costs and repair fees and thought: no, thanks.

Also, im very happy that i wont have to use the USB-Dongle anymore.

Just like to note that discounts are still applicable for Exponential Audio when buying additional plugins. Additional % sale off get added on top of that.

A change of heart for iZotopenit appears. EA reverbs are now listed as "will be compatible with Native in 2022"

There's still a slim chance they will get to updating R4 eventually as its stilll part of the MPS package.

https://support.izotope.com/hc/en-us...-and-Excalibur

Exponential Audio products, R2, R4, R2 Surround, PhoenixVerb, PhoenixVerb Surround, NIMBUS, Excalibur are no longer available for sale on iZotope.com.Support for these products will remain in effect for 12 months from your date of purchase.

Stratus and Symphony reverbs are still for sale and have recently been updated with M1 support. The good news is that Stratus and Symphony can open presets from the other reverbs (except Excalibur). PhoenixVerb, PhoenixVerb Surround and Nimbus presets can be opened in Stratus. R2, R2 Surround and R4 presets will work with Symphony. Find all info on preset migration [here].

What a clusterf***. Why they acquire products they can't support?
This will break backwards compatibility for a lot of my sessions. Plus Excalibur is a really really good product they abandon here.
It's so disrespectful to their customers. They even don't have a normal way to contact them. You have to click through endless questions with no way to just send them a message.. Byebye iZotope

Izotope have so much bad karma.
But we have seen this coming.... the reverbs were abandoned already last fall.
Why do they not offer existing customers of the reverbs a free or cheap crossgrade? So easy.
It has been a long story with the reverbs not even working in Rosetta on M1 and Monterey til June this year...
They reminds more and more of another greedy company not caring for existing customers and wanting subscriptions... :-)
I'm out.

Disgraceful. Tasteless. Unsavoury.

They buy the IP, sell a bunch of copies to new customers at bargain basement prices, then discontinue. This should be illegal. Apple Silicon has been around for two years and they were selling this software as "new" up until a few hours ago. Sorry, you'll never have the software you bought in good faith supported on two-year-old machines.

By the way, your presets will load in Stratus and Symphony ...except for Excalibur presets, there you're really screwed. (insert silence here instead of crossgrade deals which should be free or a symbolic price.)

F off. Sad thing is, I'm not even that surprised based on their track-record. What a crap company.

edit: LOL, they e-mailed me back offering to "bend the rules" and give me 30% off Stratus/Symphony. Those products are 400 and 500 bucks respectively, and obviously that still leaves Excalibur off the table and all the recall nightmare involved.

Pound sand.

The way apple regularly breaks compatibility, these definitely have a limited shelf life on apple platforms. On Windows you're probably safe for a while but still it's time to go back, open any old projects, and print everything.

It's amazing what a sh!t company Izotope became in general - between their extremly wonky upgrade prices and how they're all over the map - they just give off an air of a company that has no idea what they're doing.

Also these are the only plugins I know -besides Nugen - that only allow 1 (!) iLok authorization!

Ridiculous...

I'm really pissed. Spend so much money for nimbus, excalibur an r4, back when it was Exponential. Next to the thing, with all that compatibility struggle, my plugins never showed up on my izotope account, so I won't even get the crossgrade. WTF. I will never ever by anything from them again. Will be hard to find a new workflow without that RX Suite but get the f*** off izotope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have also been a Nimbus user since EA, also a couple of mr Carnes other reverbs. It was the Lexicon legacy, which now just has been thrown away because of greedy profit.
I’m looking at Acon to replace RX when it has to be upgraded, not giving a dime more to that greedy iZo****.
But there will probably be more alternatives when it’s time…

I guess Michael Carnes fooled us too by selling out to iZotope without demanding at least 10 years of updates for his loyal customers.

Heck, I caved and updated to MPS 5.1 and both Stratus as well as Symphony look pretty good. Mind you, the 3D versions don’t do AU, but you also get the non-3D versions that do.

Here for the gear

Do someone knows if i could have access to the previous version of stratus if i buy a licence now?
My workstation is on an older os (osx 10.13) and i do not plan to update soon because i have big pro projects i have to finish before.
I know the previous version will work because i demoed it a year ago and it was fine.

I asked izotope a few days ago but have no answer yet.

Thanks for any help
