Snare post processing (Tracks like "The Way It Is")

Hi Gordon!

Thanks for so far for all your answers here. One song that really stands out for me is "The Way It Is" and I know the ride cymbal technique was discussed, but do you mind sharing some techniques used to get sounds of the snare, kick, and toms in The Way It is?

Thanks

On Is This It there were three songs where I processed the three main drums (kick, snare, hi hat) with several plug-in EQ's (filterbank), and a gate to get a robotic sound. I believe on The Way It Is (just reminded myself by listening to it) thats the heroic Amp Farm plug in on the snare track only, whci lets the bleed from the other drum pieces also have a wee bit of that flavor!

The drums were recorded rather traditionally with a Beta 52 on the kick, sm 57 on snare, two Neumann's for overheads and Senheisser 421's on toms.. :)
SSL and API preamps were used,,, no compression (for the tracking) No groups either (busses) since I hadn't learned about that yet!
