I'm new to the forum, a home movie maker and have just finished my first surround mix. I bought the Dolby Media Meter and have the following question:
If I want to measure the Dialnorm in the classical sense (with Dialogue Intelligence on) so that the Dolby DRC is working correctly, should I measure only the center or across all channels?
Congratulations on your first surround mix! If your dialog is only in the center channel you can set the DMM to read that channel. If you use any panning across the other speakers it'd be smart to read all channels. But in all honesty, it doesn't matter. The readings will be very close no matter what.
