I work in Stereo, not 5.1 but I still use the LM100 set to LKFS (ITU). I am not sure if the Dolby plug works in Cubase. There is a version of the Dolby Tools that works standalone. You may want to investigate getting that to check your final levels before you send out the finished mixes.
great topic here! I'm learning a lot.
A couple questions:
when I am monitoring the LAeq do I solo the dialogue? I'm mixing some internet radio programs so they have some music and SFX behind the dialogue.
If the LAeq is too high I just go through and lower the dialogue in the spots that are too loud, right?
All this talk of encoding is confusing me. Is that something the radio station will do? I'm just turning in a .WAV file...where does this encoding happen?
ok so I was playing with it today and I can't keep it totally at one level. I can get it to stay within + or - 2db but not RIGHT at my target level (-24db).
Do most places expect it to be perfectly at one level the entire time?
