Dust Control - Taming the Little Beasts

How do you guys keep dust under control in your facilities? Are your rooms cleaned every day? Do you have some kind of air handling system that keeps it in check? I'm trying to find the best way to deal with it in my home studio. Seems like I could vacuum every day.

This is one of those little things, but something always curious about.

The only thing about the Ionic Breeze is I have heard they can be bad for computers. Is that a myth? Anyone know the technical details on that?

There have been a number of reports (from Consumer Reports, among others) that the Ionic Breeze generates excessive levels of ozone that could be unhealthy. There have been anecdotal reports of equipment being damaged, but it's pretty hard outside of a lab to demonstrate this.

Ozone is extremely reactive (it's basically oxygen on steroids) which is why they bubble it through hot tubs--the microbes burn up. One might infer that this isn't the best thing to have around your expensive electronics and contacts, particularly given that studios tend to be pretty airtight. YMMV.

I've been running the Ionic Breeze three years; same computer and same drives with no issues. This is the first I've heard of it being bad for computers. I'd chalk it up to the "everything is bad for you police".

consumer reports says it does absolutely nothing. sharper image has taken them to court over this and lost. there are other air cleaners that they say do work however - check consumer reports or any air purifier websites for info. as for dust. these things help but you still have to clean - vacuum (with a small brush/wand) and swiffer work for me....

heres one article on the ionic breeze but there are a lot
