zed r16 with outboard compressor

What is the correct way to connect up an outboard compressor to an Allen and heath zed r16? I have a focusrite compressor/preamp. At present I just run a jack to jack from the mono out to the desk then straight in through the front panel but I'd like to be able to use the compressor on mixdown. Thanks in advance

Why don't you simply take an insert cable from the ZED R16 channel to your Focusrite comp?

Isn't there a way to return it to an aux? I also have a reverb unit and would like to use it more than one channel at a time.

I had a ZED R16, you buy a two to one TRS and plug it into the Insert.. The cable should have a send and receive. I think I posted the exact model on the big A&H Zed thread somewhere... I'll see if I can dish it out.

Does just connecting straight into the insert mean I can use it for mixdown?

Yes, it does.

Regarding the reverb, connect the aux output(s) to the unit and connect the unit's outputs to two new channels on the console. Now you can use the aux send to send signal from any channels you want to your reverb. The return channels will be the wet reverb signal.
