About the "last on, first off" rule with passive monitors

I've just read this thread and I'm wondering if there's an article explaining such rule/theory/whatever.

I have a setup like this:

|- UPS
|-- Power amplifier and Computer
|--- Audio Interface (USB powered)
|---- Passive monitors

My question is what's the first thing I have to turn on and off to protect my equipment?
Obviously the UPS is the first on and last off, the doubt is about the amp-interface-monitors order.

Thanks in advance.

Monitors are always last on first off. Turning off/on the interface can cause pops in the monitors that could damage them (what most interface manuals I've owned said).

So Turning on order is:

Interface and external drives
Comp
Speakers

That's my order

Thanks for replying.

I turn off my audio interface to see what happen and my speakers made a huge funny pop, everything's fine, but last time I do that.

I'm still searching/waiting for an article/post explaining this signal flow order or whatever is called.
