Just tried out some of the new crop of saturation plugs including Kelvin (which I thought sounded quite good). Put this one in, and I was amazed at how great it sounded, (nicely subtle if it wants to be) really nice work on this. Thanks!

Gsat + keeps on crashing Pro Tools 2021 on OS Mojave when launching the plugin.
Does anyone else have this issue too?

Same here for Pro Tools 12.6.1
OSX 10.12.1

I was eager to try it as the saturation part of their channelstrip was my favorite part of it when I demoed it. I hope they'll fix this, I'll send them a support ticket.

Crashes here before the GUI can appear (from the latest update of June)

Pro Tools 12.6.1
Mac OSX 10.12.1

It also crashes the same way on Reaper as AU, VST and VST3.

If you need any further help/details, you can PM me .

Well, GSat+ needs Metal GFX card.
Otherwise no shows, sorry.

Really ? I remember having no issue demoing your channelstrip. What is the reason behind the change (that may exclude potential users then) ?

Which channelstrip do you mean? And which version?

CS-5501, but that was the V1 for sure (GUI was different, more similar to GSAT+ actually).
I am also using AB_LM (1) very often with no issue.
I guess all the new v2 plugins won't work on my system...

Here for the gear

First, I'll add to the chorus and say that I too am a fan and impressed by TBPro Audio plugins, of the developer and they way they operate for reasons already mentioned.

Apologies for bringing this up and I realize that this has been somewhat addressed but I am also someone that gets the "blacked out meters" issue and yet hoping for an update / alt version that might remedy this.

(so far, only tried with VST 2 - Win 10 - Ableton 9.7)

** Also, I tried the latest version of MVMeter 2 and ISOL8 which seem to have the same requirements and yet they work fine here.

I have no graphics rendering issues with any recent plugins from other developers -- however, the exact 'blacked out meter' issue occurred for myself and others (and only with) w/ a recent Analog Obsession plugin : LALA with VST 2 and VST 3. It seems to be the same issue.

LALA: Sultans Of Peaks! - Analog Obsession

Not sure if any of this is relevant or perhaps useful somehow, but Im sure there are many others that get the black meter screen that haven't bothered to mention it yet hope some remedy can found and that would love it if it worked for them as intended.

Whatever Analog Obsession did (he mentions meter strip frame size or such) with the next mentioned update fixed the 'blacked out meter' issue for myself and others.

Analog Obsession:

GUIs rendering by CPU and if possible, try turn on/off hardware acceleration.

Also, how about my other newly updated compressors or plugins with VU meter?

Meter strips little bit bigger than knobs and sometimes causes problems...

Thanks

Also - Im on latest version of REAPER.
Just checked and the issue is visible in PD as well.

Analog Obsession:

Plugins using CPU for GUI render instead GPU. As i said, this frame is little longer than others.
Tested on several system included Windows 7/10 and no issue. I believe, your system failing while render bu meter.

I will check it to make it visible.

Thanks.

AnalogObsession :

Hi!

Quick update is ready!
VERSION 2.1 - 27.4.2021

- Fixed oversampling (Thanks to Stereo Flux)
- Fixed multi-instance audio drop

Hope, everything is OK for everyone!
----

Thank you, Tunca, this update solved the Meter not showing up issue. And it sounds incredible too.

Well, we know that some of the problems of GPU rendering depend on the GPU memory size. And even if the "official" GPU memory size meets the requirements, some drivers limit the memory assignment further. Sometimes the updating of the driver solves this problem.
In any case, we try to make a compromise between rendering quality and GFX compatibility. But in the end it is a compromise :-(

Would a fallback option to OpenGL be easy to include ? Is that something older OSX version do support ?

What do you use in the Windows versions if you don‘t mind me asking ?

We are working on a fallback option
Windows also needs HW accelerated GFX, in this case OpenGL.

Ditto.

I would gladly buy a paid version of this with the HP LP

Particularly a swtichable 6db for gentle touches to vocals, and somehting steeper like 12 or 24db to knock out any negative phase interactions on bass heavy insturments. pardon the spelling errors.

Thank you, Thomas and gearspace! This one is very pleasing to my ears and can act as a subtle eq in the best kind of way. Especially the transformer preset with the fluctuation set at 50 and oversampling at x4 and the character to clean. Damn! That’s sweet on just about anything! That particular setting can take a decent sounding vocal that is somewhat edgy/slightly harsh sounding and really smooth it out in the most pleasing kind of way. I was even getting a nice mid scoop with extreme settings. I’m loving this one a lot! I started throwing it at everything and it just brings a certain color that Ive not heard from other saturation ITB. A lot of the other options, to me, sound either harsh and brittle, crispy... whatever you want to call it. While others tend to give a mushy sort of sound to things and kinda suck the life out of the material. I’m not getting any of that with this one. I’m also loving the VU overshoot readout that basically makes this a auto gain staging plugin as well. Killer man!

Big thanks once again, I really appreciate this one my friend. I’ll definitely be checking out some of your other offerings.

Excellent freebie here.

A few things. This is more of a quality of life feature, but a matched loudness feature would be welcome considering some settings add gain by default. Yeah you could lower the output, however this plugin can add RMS power and change peak structure. It'd be nice to keep things close to (perceived) unity.

The fluctuation feature can basically sound like a tremolo. Not sure if this is intended. There needs to be some randomization to the pattern, or better yet an envelope follower? Could use some work.

Overall it's quite good and more importantly, not harsh.

Side note: TBProAudio make an excellent plugin for gain matching you can purchase.
