Mac Pro 10.8.2, Logic and Fireface800 not talking to each other properly

I recently updated to a new Mac Pro laptop osx 10.8.2 - I have downloaded the Firmware & Fireface drivers update and am still having some problems in Logic. When trying to monitor input microphones the sound pulls to one ear and does not acknowledge LOGIC at all from the headphones plugged into my Fireface... i.e. turning the master volume to Logic up or down or the monitoring of individual channels has no to little effect on what i'm hearing in the phones. My preferences on the Mac are set to the Fireface as opposed to internal. Thanks in advance for any ideas. cheers.
