Mixing Control Surfaces

I am looking to add a Mixing Control device to my DAW. Presently I use a PreSonus 24.4.2 and Studio One. I also have Cubase however don't use it as much these days. I am looking for a controller that can replace mouse and keyboard for DAW software all types both for PC and MAC. Any Suggestions?

Sorry I guess I left out some important details. I would be using my PreSonus Desk for most knob twisting being it integrates beautifully with Studio One Software. However I will also be using Cubase 6.5 now and then so integration with it is also essential.

Budget Under $500

Motorized faders nice but not necessary.

Motorized faders, but damn tricky (and a bit cheap):
Behringer BCF2000 - Thomann Cyberstore Sverige

Not motorized, but a bit nicer. Automap works well (and I have this one):
Novation ReMote ZeRO SL MkII - Thomann Cyberstore Sverige

Touch-sensitive and motorized. Don't know how good/bad it is though:

The faders are really good but the support is poor and the tweackability is inexistant!

Well at the present I am looking at the Faderport and the Steinberg CC121. I really like the Steinberg unit but not sure how it would integrate with Studio One. What I want is the one that works best with both. I am also open to other devices as well but not over $500.00

There is no replacement for mouse and keyboard for a DAW.

That's not the function of a control surface. It's to AUGMENT them...

I don't know of any real options at that price. Used MCU maybe--as an MCU user, I will say that it's integration with Cubase is better than it's integration into other apps due to the mixer views bank meaning you never have to bank up and down and around. Organize your mixer via views and BAM--drums are on the faders...BAM--FX returns are on the faders...BAM-old school center section is there...however your mind organizes the routing of the mixer.

BTW--the CC121 is my recommendation for anyone using Cubase, because it contains the "focus knob"--I have a separate Griffin knob for that...but, again--it's an augmentation. You hover the mouse on a virtual knob and turn the real one.

It's a small footprint and gets 90% of the job done.

It won't do anything with other software, I don't think though. But, I caution that while the fader port WILL--it lacks the knob, so you will need to augment it with that. The VST3 focus knob concept is HUGE for me.
