Best drum plugin for percussion

I'm looking to buy a drum plugin, I make mostly techno and house with a little side of downbeat/triphop.

Highhats and percussion are the thing I'm looking for most, ethnic drums would be a great thing to have. I have tried the demo for addictive drums and I like it but are there any others I should try?

For electronic drums i go with battery. Lots of tweakability. Also EZ drummer has a pretty good electronic expansion.

Spectrasonics Stylus. Lots of choices and great sounds. I'm not into house or techno, so I don't know what exactly you need, but Stylus has a lot of stuff, I suppose that it could fit the bill for you.

If it's percussion you need I agree with MisterCrayle: Vir2's Global Percussion is outstanding.
If not - go with EZ-drummers Latin Percussion or the new adpak from AD.

I like Geist. I tried to get into using Battery, but just didn't gel with it.

For ethnic drums, I tend to use EW's Stormdrum 2.

I'm not a fan of native instruments gear, I have found it to be buggy and the support is non existent. I'll check out Vir2's Global Percussion when I get back from work tonight. Some great info here, thanks guys.

Real wood blocks, triangles, shakers etc. are pretty cheap and not hard to play and record. I use a mix of samples and real instruments. Some things sound better played, especially cymbals and anything metallic.

this sounds fun but expensive.

Are there any good sample packs worth looking at?
