Space Echo with focusrite

Hi!

I am thinking about buying the Roland® RE-201 Space Echo Tape Delay Plug-In and possibly also Lexicon® 224 Digital Reverb Plug-In. Universal Audio, the provider of the plug-in claims that both require a UAD-1 or UAD-2 DSP Accelerator Card. I use a Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 with a fairly strong PC computer. Do you know if the UAD-1 or UAD-2 really are requirements or simply a "marketing stunt"?

Thanks!

That Universal Audio Space Echo was designed for their UAD HW.

Try the free TAL Dub-Delay, you might like that. Or if you use Logic, try the Logic Tape Delay. It's been ages since I owned a Roland Space Echo so mentally I have a hard time figuring out how close those are to the real thing, though.
