Choosing the right firewire card for my mobo

Hey guys, This is my first post here. I am looking for some help with building my DAW PC and I need firewire.

Here is what I currently have:

GIGABYTE GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 mobo
16gb ripjaws 1600mhz ram
intel i5 2500
Seasonic X-series 760 watt psu
Cooler master case
Western Digital 1tb 7500rpm drive
Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 usb interface

Yes, the mobo is sandy bridge. I didn't know about all the problems when i got it. Honestly, this mobo has everything EXCEPT regular PCI slots and firewire. I got PCIE (standard 2.0) small and large and usb 3 and 2. fancy, but not helping me for audio. I'd like to migrate away from sending audio through usb. will getting a PCIE firewire card with a TI chipset work?

There are a couple Siig cards (400 and 800) that have TI chipsets (i'm hoping they are the right ones at least). I'd like to get something like the focusrite saffire pro40. Does it matter that my PCIE slots say that they conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard? I'm trying not to spend money and experience audio drops, clicks, pops, latency issues because of my mobo. I'll replace it if i have to. Thanks for any suggestions or help.

I would recommend a mobo with fw integrated in. Gigabyte makes some great stuff in that department
