Diva still crackling with high end specs

Hello gearslutz

I am using diva 64 bit with cubase 64 on windows 64. I'm using an intel i7 2600k overclocked at 4.5 ghz (manually), with epu off and windows power settings at high performance. 16gb of ram. On cpu z, my speed stays at 4.5 no matter what. Yet diva still seems to crackle a little bit on some presets, mostly bass. Am i doing something wrong? i always check multi threading on diva

did you register diva? An unregistered diva crackles as a way to remind you to register.

Use "draft" mode instead of "divine"....with some polyphonic patches it could be helpful

Anyway it's a lot demanding no matter what's your machine

Try adjusting the samplerate on your interface. Doesnt sound like your cpu should be struggling on a single patch (my 2700k never has)

Wouldn't a low buffer cause crackling?

focusrite pro 24

sample rate is 48

i run divine.

buffer was at 256, i switched it to 512 which helped. I don't feel a difference

Ok, i dont know why but the first default patch when you load diva seems to take up a lot of cpu compared to everything else.

Everyone, what is the maximum instances you can use without crackling?

What is your motherboard? Can you verify what FireWire controller it has? I know the TI and Via work well, but some FW controller chips are known to have trouble with certain audio interfaces.

no its definitely processor related..

i think i should change the question to:
What optimizations should be done to get the best daw performance and what is the average amount of instances diva people are getting before problems

thanks

Your system should be smoking with those specs. Have you tried moving the Siig to a different PCIe slot?

That is odd. I am using Diva and I do not have these problems. I have a pc 2675CM Core i7 2.2ghz with 8 gigs of ram on a laptop and Diva runs beautifully for the most part. There are a few patches here and there that eat up a ton of cpu but for the most part Diva runs really well for me in Divine mode. Contact U-He.
