Question Recording Lock-Up, Data Recovery, End Command Solution? Anyone?

All, & Everybody,

I'm happily recording in Pro Tools, & the computer goes haywire. Won't let me save what's going on in my session so the only way to get out of the session is to 'force quit'. I'm working in OSX which has been real stable for me so far. After 'force quitting' the audio files show up on my drives but not in the Pro Tools session so I try importing into the session, & Pro Tools says "such, & such file unreadable by Pro Tools". What gives? I'm told that it's possible that when the program/computer shut down that no 'end command' was written on my audiofiles. What's a reasonable solution. Any software out there that'll address this? Thanks in advance to anyone who's got an answer.
