Hope they will not only add some of the new great comps like.
  • API 2500
  • Manley VariMu
  • Distressor
But also make some great old ones. Just a dedication to real vintage gear.
  • Altec 436
  • Altec 1591
  • RCA BA6A
  • EMI TG

And here's a few i can think of that i've been waiting for. I don't care if they are UAD or RTAS or HTDM or whatever, buuut:

- The EQ from a Calrec PQ1161
I know it's a lot like the Neve (1081 is it?) as far as EQ points, but it would be sweet to have that Calrec option...

- Calrec DL2888 compressor + limiter module
This is a killer modern VCA design, mono or stereo. works great on mixbuss, or any individual sound source. Fast and transparent, and the separate limiter can bring in some serious slam sauce.

- ADR F760X-RS Compex compressor
No explanation needed here. Rumor has it, someone is already on this one. Get back to work, you! heh

- ADR "Scamp" rack with "modules"
This would be cool, it could run sort of like Reason, in that the "rack frame" could come up first, empty, and then you could pick from all of the ADR Scamp modules to populate it. Alternately if you just needed say, an S01 Compressor module and nothing else, any individual module could be booted up on it's own.

- Orban 418A Stereo Limiter
This is an awesome, little known stereo limiter. Sounds AMAZING on drums, especially for parallel compression. Can also run in mono, and is killer on bass.

- Ward Beck desk EQ and compression
Let's get some of that high quality broadcast stuff up in the house. ADM would be another one i can think of. Sweet EQ and compressor modules...

- Universal Audio 175/176 valve compressors
Absolutely no explanation needed. Why hasn't this been done yet? Or maybe it has and i just don't know about it.

- Audix/Calrec/BBC AM6/17 compressor module
This all-discrete BBC design is legendary. Makes for a fantastic vocal compressor. Even works for mixbuss if you use it sparingly.

- Allison/Valley People Gain Brain and Gain Brain II compressors
I know that the Valley Dynamite is in the works. (Is it out yet?) But the old Gain Brains and GBII's were also totally cool. Such funky 1970's vibe on those. Very marketable.

- A set of Sifam PPM meters such as the Type 74, with BBC 1-7 scale and accurate PPM ballistics.
I'd love to see both the twin-needle stereo and the sum/difference versions. This would be a great "analog"-esque tool for mixbuss metering. Get your peaks to hit just shy of 6 and you're done.

- Altec 436A valve compressor
I'm wondering why this one isnt out already. Seems like a no-brainer, as the original 436's were so prolific for a time. Plus it would look really sick floating on my computer screen.

Right comps that change the feel and the sound like hardware.
Once again PSP and Softube did it you can shape the sound of the source with them the UAD comps are not bad but they have to my ear all the same basic feeling sonically.

Come one UAD you are the developer off the real hardware and other companies have to show you the trick how to emulate it better????

I was a long time believer in UAD!!
Since the Softube FET and CL1B and the PSP Old Timer I get the feeling I invested my money in the wrong company.

I hope times will change and DSP powered plug ins will have the nose up front one day again.heh
Keeping in mind that plugins are not an investment at all.....UAD is a great investment I think. Their plugs are some of the best and they cant be cracked....repeat....can not be cracked. The company will thrive and keep developing great plugins...hopefully.

Anyway, overall, all is good in plugin world. I have all I need to make great mixes.

Eventide H3000 or Orville or maybe Eclipse
Roland Jupiters
Distressor

But actually with the latest native developments i feel less and less the thrill to buy a very expensive uad2, quad is not so powerful, yet costs a half of a macpro which pricey too, not to mention a win desktop. Roland synths and eventide stuff would make me delirious...

I seem to recall reading that they were planning to do a plug-in version of the Gain Brain II, although I can't remember where.

I think you did not read carefully what I wrote in my original post.
Read it again .......

THINK............ THINK LONGER.....

OK ah you get it.....you have to DEMO the competitive stuff before you write about it.

Here is the users manual for downloading DMEOS:

Go to the Softube website and DEMO the FET as well as the CL1B and you will never touch one of the UAD comps again.....

Interesting old thread. It seems like some of these wishes have been granted.

I would love to see their Pultec updated (although I still love the old one).

Maybe a UA 176 emulation?

SSL Duende Channelstrip and Metric Halo Channelstrip, as those are already coded for the Sharc DSP on their respective platforms. Would be really easy and quick to do. UAD Lexicon 480 rebadge of the Relab LX480. Again, should not be a problem as the SSL X-Verb which is done by the same guy was coded for the Sharc DSP so he knows the instruction set well. Now get going!

BTW, amazing how much stuff asked for has materialized. UAD is for believers! So let me say, I would also like to have a completely revised Precision Series with Dynamic EQ, Clean Comp/Exp/Gate Combo, and if possible surround support for the Limiter.
