Beat Detective Drum Question????

If you were using Beat detective to quantize drums and came across a Snare or Tom Flam (like what you would hear on a Nirvana type fill) how would you fix it.

A. Would you use the first hit of the flam as the point of reference?

B. Would you use the 2nd hit of the flam as the point of reference?

C. Would you use the mid point between the 2 hits as the point of reference?

Thanks

Select a 4 bar region, loop it then select flam sliver and manually nudge till is 'sounded right' - more to do with ears than grids!

True, but I'm hoping for the scientific correct answer.

Scientific ??? I thought you were talking about drummers !!

Anyway, it is the second hit which is on the downbeat. It is also supposed to be louder than the first one.

Clipgod has it right.

The second hit of a flam is the downbeat, the first hit being the lead in.
